Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibition Coming to Toronto
Thursday, April 23, 2009 “It was from out the rind of one apple tasted, that the knowledge of good and evil, as two twins cleaving together, leaped forth into the world. And perhaps this is that doom which Adam fell into of knowing good and evil, that is to say of knowing good by evil.“
~John Milton, Areopagitica

The Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibition is coming to Toronto soon and I’m quite excited to see it! It will be hosted by the Royal Ontario Museum, only a few blocks from the office. The exhibition is to take place mid-June of this year and extends to January of next year. The museum is also offering paid lectures on the context and impact on society made by the discovery of the scrolls since the early 1950s; the lectures should be interesting, I wouldn’t mind the extra fee.
Movie Review: The Importance of Being Earnest

Nowadays, I find myself amused by literary adaptation movies especially by those of British background. As of this moment, I have been cramming for my exam on Victorian Literature to be held this coming Wednesday at seven until ten in the evening. Yes, such a disgusting time frame for an exam, moreso I have another seven-to-ten exam this coming Saturday. Of course, in comparison to the twelve labours of Hercules, this shouldn’t be at all bad right? Truth be told though, (more…)

POST EDITED: I edited this post to provide some explanation on the idea behind this poem. Hopefully, it will provide better lighting in understanding the language and technique I used to write this sonnet.
Libertà nel Versetto (Liberty in Verse)
I do not want to write sonnets,
Nor do I want asps in rhyme,
This heart’s fuller without such vine
To strangle mine own vision’s eyne, (more…)
Curiosity: the Consequences of Digging into Pandora’s Box
Friday, April 10, 2009“Remember that when you open the box you never know what you are going to find inside, so open with care”
~Pandora’s Box (the Movie)

Curiosity kills the cat and out of all human attributes, it is one adamantine hard to break. Once unleashed, it can deal a massive blow the size of a thousand foot tsunami. Of course, there are also the good kinds which can reward a person in the form of an A-paper or exam. However, if this certain incident was good, I won’t be here badmouthing Pandora’s wretched box, am I? I cannot even explain how unsettling I feel right now.

A Tribute to the Power of Vodka
Nalaman kong habang lumalaki ka, maraming beses kang madadapa. Bumangon ka man ulit o hindi, magpapatuloy ang buhay, iikot ang mundo, at mauubos ang oras.

I just want to share some clips regarding yesterday’s inuman session… I’m pretty much speechless, it was really a fun night. Let the photos speak for themselves.
